I purchased this set as a gift to myself when my husband and I moved into our new home. Our children had gone off to college and I understanding the Lenox dishes were a luxury we could now enjoy. Unfortunately, they are mostly a disappointment. On a positive note they are beautiful. We have been using this Butterfly Meadow set just over 2 years now. almost immediately I noticed how of course these dishes scratch. Aren't plates made with the intention of eating off of them? I won't even offer steak knives when setting the table, unless my guests ask them, because I know the dishes will become even more marred. I am also surprised at how of course this set chips, and the chipped edges are very sharp. I'm very careful with the set and only hand wash everything, so I'm truly shocked whenever I find a chip. I had such high expectations since this set is made by Lenox. I previously owned a set of Corelle dishes which was much less expensive and I used for over 20 years. I wish I had known, how delicate the Butterfly Meadow set of course is, before I had purchased it. Honestly, I just don't advise it.
